Companions of PSOL

The Poor Sisters of Our Lady (PSOL) is a Catholic congregation dedicated to spreading the message of Christ's love and redemption. While the congregation is comprised of Sisters and the ones aspiring to become Sisters the lay collaborators play a vital role in supporting and advancing the mission of the PSOL.

Who are Lay Collaborators?

Lay collaborators are individuals who share the charism and mission of the PSOL congregation. They are men and women from various walks of life who are committed to living out their faith in service to others. Lay collaborators may be married or single, and come from diverse backgrounds and professions.

Inspired by Mary our Mother, and Servant of God George Fernandes, we live a Spirit filled life as individuals and as a group through Marian Spirituality empowering us to reach out to the needy particularly the marginalized, children, women, families and promoting vocations.

Mumbai

The Lay Collaborators association was inaugurated on March 9, 2014 with 40 members.

Assonora, Goa

The Lay Collaborators association was inaugurated on July 7, 2024 with 11 Members.

Kirem, Mangalore

The Lay Collaborators association was inaugurated on August 15, 2024 with 13 Members.

OBJECTIVES

  • Living a life of prayer marked by simplicity and humility.
  • Deepening Marian Spirituality through prayer, Bible sharing, Holy Eucharist, recollections and retreats.
  • Praying the Divine Office.
  • Encourage growth through fellowship, meetings, celebrations and outings and collaborating in the activities and programmes of the Institute.
  • Doing ordinary things with extraordinary love and providing psycho-spiritual comfort to all those who are in need and help in educating the poor and marginalized children.
  • Promoting and supporting mission awareness through prayer, fostering and nurturing missionary vocations in particular of the Institute.
  • Involving actively in the local parish activities and in the different ministries of their respective parishes as PSOL Companions.
  • Generating funds voluntarily and providing help according to the needs of the Apostolates.

Prayer and Spiritual Support

Lay collaborators commit to regular prayer and spiritual support for the congregation and its members.

Apostolic Works

Lay collaborators participate in various apostolic works, such as evangelization, catechesis, and social justice initiatives.

Administration and Governance

Lay collaborators may serve on committees, councils, or boards that support the governance and administration of the congregation.

 Financial Support

Lay collaborators may provide financial support to the congregation, enabling it to carry out its mission and apostolic works.

Lay collaborators receive support and guidance from the
congregation helping them to grow in their faith and discern their calling.

The lay collaborators of the PSOL congregation are essential partners in ministry, supporting the congregation's mission and apostolic works. Through their prayer, service, and commitment, lay collaborators help to spread the message of Christ's love and redemption, bringing hope and joy to those they serve.

Prayer Request

The Poor Sisters Of Our Lady prays for the members of the congregation, lay associates, collaborators and all people of the world. In addition to community prayer, we have a separate prayer time set aside daily, for intentions.

We invite you to send your prayer requests to us for :  serious illness, operation/surgery, family, employment, examinations, repose of the soul of a loved one, private personal intention.
